Phase 1
Position
Before the market can choose you, it must understand you.
Positioning answers four fundamental questions:
Audience
Who do you serve?
Problem
What problem do you solve?
Differentiation
Why are you different?
Relevance
Why should anyone care?
Without clear positioning, authority has no foundation. A market cannot adopt what it cannot define. Most authority problems begin as positioning problems — the work of being understood precedes the work of being chosen.
Clarity is the first form of authority.
